Robotic process automation or RPA is the use of software with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning capabilities in order to handle complex, repeatable tasks that previously required extreme human efforts. These tasks include innumerable complex queries, arithmetic, algorithms, calculations, and maintenance of records and transactions. Almost every business involves certain manual processes which are found inefficient, prone to errors and lead to employee dissatisfactions. Robotic process automation solutions are among the leading automation solutions of today. However, depending on one’s experience with RPA, he may have different questions and the most common query is the list of all robotic process automation vendors.

Robotic process automation solutions are the emerging form of clerical process automation technology solutions that are based on the notion of software robots or artificial intelligence (AI).  Robotic process automation bots are software robots that complete specific automatable activities. Some of the best robotic process automation solutions in the market are Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Ui Path., OpenSpan, WorkFusion, etc. Today there are different types of robotic process automation tools available in the market. Before the invention of RPA software, enterprises had used automation tools. However, only simple processes with excel automation were automated like macros and simple hacks. These processes were not that efficient but improved the productivity and scalability to some extent. But they were not for sustainable uses. Thereafter the first generation robotic process automation solutions were invented which basically were programmable bots that required specific inputs. Then, the cognitive or intelligent automation bots were developed. These augment programmable bots were advanced and performed functions like natural language processing, machine learning, image recognition, etc. Some of the tools being developed are the self-learning bots. These tools watch employees in action, understand processes, and take over processes when they reach confidence. They require human input when they get completely new input. Currently, they are confined to PoCs and are not common yet.

Some companies like Pegasystems or Kofax, launched in the 1980s and 1990s, help with various digitization needs of other companies. Kofax was established as a digital transformation vendor offering services like document digitization and e-signatures. They launched robotic process automation solutions later, when their relationships, process knowledge and understanding of change management with companies deepened. Some robotic process automation vendors are adding new challenges and capabilities to the current market. We can consider the case of WorkFusion, which is offering chatbots integrated to its RPA bots and it is willing to take the risks for market disruption. WorkFusion is offering a free-as-in-beer robotic process automation solution, which was one of the free first free offers on the markets and will definitely attract the market’s attention.

Therefore, Robotic Process Automation has paved its way for enterprises to create the most efficient operations and lessen human errors as far as possible. Automating repetitive processes is helpful in cost savings, and frees up much resources for more productive utilization. It is on the wiser side of the enterprises to get connected with the robotic process automation vendors and mitigate their human efforts as far as possible, for a better outcome of their operations.
